Claims: 1053797 - 1068489 - 1068871 Type: Placer Gold Claim Location: Lillooet, British Columbia
This is an exceptionally unique opportunity to mine a large bar on the Fraser River. The claim group is comprised of three titles "Venus", "Fraser", and "Riley Island" that cover four adjoining cells and provide over 200 acres of claim area. The location just South of Lillooet, BC provides a near year-round mining within a few hours of both the lower mainland and major cities in the Southern interior of the province.
There is roughly 1.5km of river frontage along the claim's entire length including a substantial ~35 acres of island. This location was historically known as "Island Bar" when it was worked by hand circa 1860. The South end of the claim encompasses another shoreline bar that was also historically worked in the 1800s. A gold bearing seasonal stream also joins the property from the West.
The river water levels recede dramatically from mid-summer onwards exposing substantial gravels on both the island and shores providing significant panning and high banking opportunities. The Fraser River is also the only River in BC in which machinery can be permitted to operate on the bars. This claim is accessible at both ends via both a 2WD access road and an ATV trail.
