Type: Placer Gold Claim
Location: Lumby, British Columbia
A rare combination of attributes exist on this claim providing a great opportunity for a junior operator to work up to a small-scale operation. Providing exceptional access, combined with a long season, and with present and historical placer operations both up and downstream - this claim offers great prospects in an unbeatable location.
Harris Creek cuts through this two-cell ~100 acre claim providing 750 meters of water frontage on both sides of the creek. Extensive flats run throughout the claim overtop of historic channel areas providing significant gravels suitable for both hand and small-scale machine operations.
British Columbia mineral files list the total production from Harris Creek at 455 ounces of gold prior to 1945. The gold is primarily light colored and occurs as fine rough particles, frequently with quartz adhering and considerable black sand. In one or two localities the gold is coarser, darker and well-worn, high purity, and coarse nuggets with fineness 870 to 878.
